“As a brass musician for many years (and with a son who makes a living as a wedding singer) I was recently attracted to a clarinet & piano recital. (I love live music) I'm glad I made the effort to go. A packed hall listened to the cleverly named 'Liquorice & Ivory' duet.
Professional and fun are the two words I must use to describe a well constructed and hugely entertaining session.
The cheeky little numbers (punctuated by an astonishing array of black notes) kept the audience on the edge of their seats. As an entertainer myself, I judge a performance on how the performers interact with the audience. Terrific! Well done to Claire and Ed. I loved it and walked away with a smile on my face.” Eddie Hill
“Liquorice & Ivory are truly professional in every way.
Their wide ranging repertoire, adaptability and flexibility means they are able to cater for any occasion or event.” Luan Shaw -
“We booked Liquorice & Ivory for our wedding in December 2013 as we wanted something original and different.
From the very outset, their focus was on making sure they understood exactly what we required.
Our wedding had a 1920/30s theme but we needed two distinctive sets of music. For the drinks reception we wanted to create a jazz / ragtime / Downton Abbey-
In the build up to the wedding, they were happy to liaise directly with our reception venue and suppliers to ensure everything was coordinated properly and they were 'on site' early on the morning of our wedding day so everything was set-
Live music adds so much to a special occasion and in Liquorice & Ivory we feel we booked absolute professionals. We can't recommend them highly enough.” Gareth & Cheryl Jones
“I just wanted to take an opportunity to say how lovely it was listening to your music at the wedding breakfast in December. It gave a wonderfully relaxed ambiance to the occasion and so many of the wedding guests expressed their delight and enjoyment at your varied repertoire. Absolutely first class!” Jeanette -
“We had the great pleasure in attending a vintage afternoon tea, at a church in Kirkham. Playing to a full and delighted audience, were 'Liquorice and Ivory'. A sublime and very accomplished duo with a vast repertoire . Classy and classic, totally engaging. As someone who regularly organises these types of events, I would not hesitate to contact them should we require the added vibrancy of live music” Tess Rowlands
